I have a confession to make. I kissed a 14 year old. Well, she was 4 months short of 15. I was 2 years and 9 months older than her at the time. Years later, we met as adults, grown and out of our childhood crushes, and as we sat talking, I wondered how her age didnt strike me at that time. It would be impossible to do that now, not being into unformed females. But I kissed a 14 year old once... I look at 14 year-olds now and gag at the thought.

    Surely its alright for a 16 yr old to find a 14 yr old attractive.... Don't beat yourself up.

    Hi Oluwole, perhaps i am a little bit naive here. Did you kiss this 14-year old cute baby on the forehead, on her cheek(s), or was it rather a mouth-to-mouth resusitation. From an African Realist's perspective, when a guy kisses a girl in the mouth it tends to have a sexual connotation. In London (everywhere) - on the train in the tube on the bus in the taxi on the pelican in the pub etc etc people kiss ALWAYS. I watch and study and notice how they look in each other's eyes an touch-kiss kiss-touch again and again. then I think to myself, there is really no sexual undertone about this. To them it is a language a signal or attribute of care affection and infactuation. i don't see many black people propagate their kiss-smooch like that.

    Oluwole, i just wonder to myself why you put this ENORMOUS 'confession' on your blog.

    You did not tell us who you last kissed and what age they were - that would be a 'worthwhile and overwhelming' confession.

    @ c'est moi- no intention to look at 16 year olds now. Cringe-worthy? I agree totally.

    @ Olusola of London- Black people can't kiss without sexual undertones? Many might disagree. particularly females. I think, men, basically are the ones with the problem of a kiss for a kiss' sake. Women seem to like it.
