Saw the performance while in london sometimes last year and i think it was good. But i also think it was too European(too Shakespeare like), for a real African play.A carribean lady actually complained about that and i thought yeah! u know, u go to see a Soyinka's play expecting to see a re-enactment of Africa not only in stage setting but also in line rendition and the mannerisms of the characters.those were missing. i saw the performance twice though and that goes to say how much i liked it. i particularly appreciated the special attention that was paid to music, it was even done in parts which is quite unlike the vigorous plays we see nowadays, as more energy is put on dramatics and not the components of a total African theatre package like most of Soyinka's works.
Sidi was stage friendly.Yeah, this picture is lovely.
