I met Harry in Lagos before he relocated to England. My friend is now a musician based in England and has been so for a while.

His latest song, is 'no more yahoozee', an answer to the glorification of hedonism as preached by Olu Maintain.

Let's give Olu the credit he deserves as an artiste:He picked on an existing social phenomenon to create a very entertaining work, which in turn created further wide-reaching awareness of the trend. At least no government official can now pretend not to know about the yahoo yahoo issue.

Ah, Stand-Tall, spin-offs have been in music since the beginning of time.

@ Africa- just for the record, I love Olu Maintain's song. I also love his survival of a separation from his other singing half, Tolu, which would have been a mortal blow to lesser men.

@ Standtall- As far back as memory goes, people have always made versions of other people's songs. Going to check your blog now.

Yes, i know and I do not have any problem with that but to think that it will go on forever, I will get tired.

I love Olu's version and I also love the "No more yahoozee" version but while Olu recorded the track for pure entertainment, he unknowingly made the yahoozee culture seem even more glamourous to pple; No more Yahoozee on the other hand, is meant to show that yahoozee is pure fraud and should not be encouraged, but you know which of the track is more popular outta the two.

How have you been Laspapi?

...at the risk of being different, i dare. I never understood (or could comprehend) the essence of Yahoozee, rather, i think it propounded the theory that one can always make it without toil. Unfortunately, the teeming masses (Nigeria's future -her youths) are being carried away.

I beg to disagree (without apologies either), i simply do not dig it......let's redefine entertainment and not celebrate averageness.
